Our retreat center is situated on the Garden Route between Sedgefield and Knysna, 10 min from the ocean on a quiet farm. You will be surrounded by nature, wildlife, and incredible scenic views. Here, you will be initiated to the Ilula Well-Being Philosophy, a range of personalised programs composed of body awakening, walks (hikes), treatments, and other well-being activities.
We will accompany you before, during, and after your stay to ensure your experience lasts in time. At Ilula, we do our best to make sure you leave our retreat feeling lighter.
A Vision Inspired by Nature & Life
Ilula comes from the ancient African language Swahili, and means “easy or lighter”, which is the feeling that we seek to create for all our guests. At Ilula, we create all our retreats, workshops and treatment to support this philosophy. We believe that well-being is an expression of feeling lighter in all aspects of life; physically, emotionally, and spiritually.
Wide open-landscapes give us the full range of the sun, from dawn till dusk. Our retreat venue and accommodation embodies this ambience, which makes it the perfect place to revitalise and embrace greater lightness in life.
